Hello Ponus Ridge Community! Happy Summer!

I hope you are well, safe, and healthy. Welcome to our new GRADE 6 Families! Please see below for a few important dates in

August/September:

• August 16 - GRADE 6 STUDENTS ONLY - Orientation
  • Families have already received an email. See you on the 16th!
• August 26th - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
  • ​​​​​​​Our doors open at 8am. Our day ends at 2:50pm. Bus routes and information will be sent closer to the first day of school. Please be on the lookout for that information
• Sept. 4th - Parent Information Session at 6pm in the cafeteria.
  • ​​​​​​​This is an opportunity to meet the administrators and some staff. We will provide you with some very important information. Light snacks will be served. This is a worthwhile event for you to attend
• Sept. 11th - Back to School Night
  • ​​​​​​​This is an opportunity for you (families) to follow your student's schedule and meet their teachers. You will learn about classroom expectations, homework, etc. You will be in each class for 10-12 minutes. Again, this is a GREAT opportunity to meet our staff!
• Sept. 18th - National Junior Honor Society Induction
  • ​​​​​​​CURRENT GRADE 8 STUDENTS who completed the FULL application and gave it to Mrs. Glaude, our Dean of Students. This is an evening program in the auditorium
• Sept. 20th - Back to School Dance
  • The dance is chaperoned by Ponus staff in the gymnasium from 7-9pm. This is another great opportunity for students to meet other students in a more social environment. The cost is $5 and a canned good/box of pasta, etc. We donate the food item to the our food pantry, OR to a local food bank. We have a live DJ (new DJ this year) who plays all the latest songs (clean and edited versions) as well as a concession stand where the PTO sells pizza, candy, water, chips, candy, etc. All items are priced from 1-2 dollars
• PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)
  • We are ALWAYS looking for parent/family involvement. We are also looking to diversify our PTO that mirrors our student population as we honor and respect diverse perspectives, input, and ideas. You will hear more about PTO meetings in the near futurePlease mark your calendars for the dates above. You will receive emails from me quite often with inforamtion, etc.

We are looking forward to a GREAT year! We NEED you (families) to continue to engage with us as we form the triangle of support - school/student/family - for our learning community.
